Men's Headwall Stretch Shell Jacket

I bought this product for heavy powder heli skiing in the Selkirks, it kept me 100% dry and the strech factor works amazingly for confines as well as versatility. Though I think it could use a few vents for when you heat up, I think it’s a top high performance product that works in the most extreme conditions. 5 out of 5.

The Headwall collection is without a doubt the best ski wear I have ever used. The range of motion that I have with the jacket and pants or bibs beats anything I've ever owned before, including the supposed softshell stretch jackets. This has been a real treat for those tight tree skiing days, as well as the days when I am up and down on the snow for video at the ski races. Waterproof and blocks wind with ease and I especially like how the pants and bibs cut upwards a little in the back of the cuff at the bottom. This has eliminated my pants getting caught in my bindings when I click in or having to make sure I pull up on them as I step in. Now when I need to jump into my skis and head down the hill in a hurry at races or training, I am able to again.

SYNC knocked it out of the park with this collection and I am glad that we made the decision to purchase a set for the entire family. Sizing is also spot on for me and I also like the double latching for the pants since now I don't have to worry about a single snap popping loose while I am up and down working with race setup. :-)

I’m on day 5 with the Headwall jacket and bibs. So far so great. We’ve had variable conditions in the PNW and the gear has come through.

Super High Quality kit. Really Clean lines. Material and Zippers are first rate and ultra wind resistant. Skied on a 10 deg. morning and did not feel the wind at all. Awesome finish, with a fabric that feels both strong and sturdy but also has a soft hand. Seems very resistant to abrasion - a plus when tree skiing. water beads off like no material I've seen before. Bibs are cut right under middle of the chest which gives great coverage on a deep day with a super stretchy material in the lumbar area, well thought out zipper placement and full length side zips on the legs. Jacket has a shorter athletic cut at the hip. "Pit" zips are unique front pockets. Hood is well thought out perfectly pairs with a helmet. Fit is quite slim and can be challenging to layer beyond a base layer and a fleece, but zero flapping of material when skiing at speed which I liked. I would recommend to upsize if you are on the cusp between sizes.

The Headwall jacket has it all and it's clear how much thought went into making it. It's a super durable shell that can take a beating in the back country, keep you warm on windy days, and is incredibly comfortable for all day wear. The biggest x-factor for me is the stretch that the jacket has. My North Face and Patagonia shells feel stiff, but the Headwall has durability without sacrificing mobility. Awesome product and very satisfied with my choice to get one.

The headwall collection is everything I was looking for in Sync's new product release. More freedom of movement with the shell jacket and bibs, plenty of pockets, and the design quality is top notch. This will be my go to kit all season, for both resort skiing and uphill laps. The ability to layer under the jacket depending on temperature, as well as the venting system ensures a no cold/low sweat situation. The colors are killer, and look even better in person. Buy it for you, and the ones you ride with, you won't be disappointed.

Huge fan of this jacket! Fits true to size. Super high quality zippers and seams. The material is stretchy, waterproof, and breathable. Great in all conditions.

My son is 14 wearing a men’s small. Fits perfect and a little extra room for a base layer if needed on the colder days.

Excellent water resistance and wind proof. A few cold and wet days; he’s been dry and warm. It’s our first time ordering from Sync and would 100% recommend to others.

The Headwall Shell is extremely versatile. I appreciate the stretch and overall fit of the jacket. Exceptional wind and weather proof. My go to shell on or off the slopes. The quality of the materials is excellent. The fit and style makes it an all season piece. Layer up or down, the Headwall has you covered.

I love the shell. The fit, the color, the stretch. It is great. It feels very high end.

My constructive feedback is:
1. The chest pocket needs to be big enough to easily fit the larger phones.
2. The side pockets are very hard to open with gloves on. They are very far back and reaching around with the other hand to hold the bottom of the jacket tight is almost impossible because they are so far back. I pretty much find those pockets unusable.
3. I would welcome a removable hood.

Overall an amazing jacket.

Love the colour(plume). Very stylish and functional and weather proofing is excellent. Love the zippers and overall style. XL fits pretty true to size.

I started wearing my Headwall shell this month – you all hit a home run with this product. Comfortable, stretchy, well thought-out, very usable pockets and massive vents. I have the mustard color and I got many questions and compliments on the chair lifts.

Really impressed by the jacket. Great fit, stretch, and love the Raisin colour. I've never had so many compliments on a jacket before!!!! What I've been most excited about is the versatility of this line. Warm enough for the coldest days, but also has great breathability and ventilation for the way up.

The Headwall Stretch Shell Jacket is the jacket we have been waiting for from Sync. This is a technical shell that is durable, waterproof, and breathable. It features intelligent design features like generous venting, powder skirt, helmet-compatible hood, generous pockets, drawstrings, integrated goggle wipe, taped seams, sealed zippers, and more. The fabric feels very durable. The stretch component to the fabric keeps the shell comfortable for all-day athletic skiing. The cut is slightly more close-fitting than some other Sync jackets, so you may want to size up if between sizes, especially if you want to layer underneath this jacket. Overall, this is a lightweight, comfortable, functional technical shell jacket suitable for both backcountry and front-side skiing.

My jacket just arrived so I have not been able to test it out in the elements yet but I can already tell by the construction, materials and fit that this is going to be my new favorite shell. I will update here if that doesn't hold true but I am super stoked on this thing and can't wait to fully test it out. I’ve had numerous shells over the last 30 years and this is by far the best as the Headwall checks all the boxes. Great fabric, incredible stretch, good fit with a clean look and well placed quality zippers. Cuff tabs are pretty unique in terms of how they look but most importantly, very functional. Hats of to SYNC as this product is a must have.

I was eagerly anticipating arrival of my Headwall jacket and pants as the snow started to arrive in Banff and Lake Louise in late November and early December when I received an email notice that my gear was out for delivery. Perfect timing for the season.

When it arrived I eagerly unpacked the parcel and spread out the jacket and pants on the dining room table for my initial inspection. The fabric and the finishing details all appeared to be top notch. Yesterday morning I took the time to suit up at home. The fit and finish are perfect and I can generally find even the smallest detail to critique. Being a Sync product I expected it to be well made but it exceeded my expectations. Even more surprising was the fit. Having ordered the suit online I ordered according to the Sync size charts but I expected I might need to have minor alterations done for a custom fit. Both items fit perfectly. I’m fortunate I’m of average height and weight but I’m always at the tailor making small adjustments to new clothing. I’m happy to report that for me the fit is absolutely spot on.

I haven’t had the opportunity to give it the real on mountain trial yet but I plan to do that tomorrow. We all know that is the real test for all ski gear. I ski mostly in western Canada and weather conditions can variable to say the least. Warm days, cold days, wet days and deep dry snow days can all be experienced in a single week. I may have to add an extra layer on the coldest days of the year but I’m expecting the Headwall gear to serve me well for many seasons to come. For reference I’ve been skiing 50 plus days a year for over 50 years. I know what works well for me and I’m excited to have the Sync Headwall gear as part of my kit.

I will provide a further on hill update when I’ve had a few days skiing in my new gear. The only critique I have on first impressions is I wish the jacket hood was detachable but that’s just a personal preference. Having said that the hood fits perfectly when wearing my helmet.
