Men's Top Step Side-Zip Insulated Ski Pants

The SYNC Performance Top Step side-zip ski pant, like every product we make, has a frustrated athlete with a story to tell behind them.

Founder note: It was possibly the worst ski day of my life. A cold, windy Carnival at Burke in early February, starting last due to a hike. I was trying to get my pants on over my suit and fumbling for minutes (it seemed like hours) due to the snow having caked the zippers, icing them over rendering them useless, and virtually making it impossible to connect the sides together. Completely freezing in the howling wind, I had to take my gloves off (instant frostbite) to try and warm the zipper up and melt the snow, just to "put my diaper on." I figured there had to be a better way, which lead to the 3/4 Step-Through construction being born. No more fumbling with zippers. Step, step, zip, zip, and off you go.

The SYNC Performance Top Step side zip ski pants features our 3/4 Step-Through construction design. By using a robust zipper that zips just short of the waistband, racers don’t have to try to connect the zipper at the top, you just step right into the pant, and zip down. The zipper itself is a nice large gauge so you can do it all with your gloves on, no hassle and no frostbit fingers.

3/4 Step-Through construction has been leaned on heavily by athletes who wear a knee brace because you can easily zip up from the bottom with your boots on and adjust your brace as needed.

Additionally, for those who aren't necessarily racing, and get hot easy. The unique side-zip construction makes it simple and easy to vent, so you can dump the extra heat on the chairlift after a top to bottom Outer LImits lap on a sunny mid-March day. Heat regulation is an important part of having a great day on the ski hill and these pants give you the ability to adjust throughout the day.

Skiing’s cold, and once you get cold, it can be mentally consuming and hard to warm back up. Once you're cold, your performance suffers. If you made the flip or are looking to score, you want to be immediately warming back up for the second run. The top step pant is designed to warm you up quickly so you can immediately start recovery, and think about and your plan for the next run.

Made with a comfortable athletic fit, premium technical materials, just the right amount of insulation so you feel the warmth immediately, a variety of color choices and plenty of pockets, the Top-Step side zip pant is the perfect workhorse pant for everyday skiing.

Best customer service and ski pant

Sync has the best customer experience I’ve ever experienced!

When my ski pants were delivered, someone stole the package! I called sync about it and midway through the call was disconnected.

I thought I’d try again in a day or two... in two days, before I’d even called in, Sync had sent me another pair!

Customer service alone is a good enough reason for me to support sync, but on top of that, the pants are a great fit (5’11”, 155lbs, Men’s small) and perform like the best pants in the industry.

    Great product, comfortable and warm!

    Side zip pant

My son uses these six to seven days a week and we just ordered our second pair for next season. Well made, high quality, and functional. He does cut them up, but I would attribute that more to his use than any issue.

My 12 year old is growing so the men’s small was a perfect fit, a belt and a little length don’t bother him at all.

Great jacket for cold ski days

The Shelter Parka is an awesome jacket - fits great and is really warm. When temps are freezing this is my go to jacket for skiing and everything in between.

    Not for long-legged people

The pants are awesome, but are too short for all but one family member. Because we ordered them as a team item, we cannot return. I would suggest posting the inseam length on your items.

    Warmest Jacket Ever

Read title. Fantastic quality. Couldn't think of anything more it needs.

    Great Race Suit!

Well made suit, durable material, perfect fit
(5’7”, 115#…size Small), with padding in all the right places. Nice work, Sync!

    Championship Jacket
    Stephen Francis

Hi! We haven't had much snow in California yet so I have not had a chance to use my championship jacket yet. But it looks well constructed and I will let you know once I get out on the hill. BTW, last year I bought a long sleeve quarter zipper base layer which I love for hikes. I bought the fleece pants which I really love for winter hikes and hanging at the house. The front pocket sustained a wearing out with a hole in it now. That is a bummer but overall I have been very happy with all of your products. I am also an aging sometimes Masters racer at 61. When I was the age of the average Sync racer we did not have the sort of culture you have created for the racers and I love what you have done in this regard. Cheers!
