A massive improvement in functional training layers for ski racers and mountain athletes.

VAIL, Colo.—Nov. 8, 2020—SYNC Performance, provider of ski apparel, protective ski race equipment, and travel bags based in Vail, Colo, launches today a brand new lineup of completely re-designed and re-imagined training apparel to help athletes maximize performance on the training hill. Two years in the making, working with athletes who train 150+ days on the snow and ski 250+ days a year, SYNC has finally perfected a collection of technical warmup layers designed as a kit.

The collection consists of three styles, the first two being a Men’s and Women’s zip-up jacket, called, The Warmup Down Jacket. The third piece is a completely revolutionary take on the traditional ski pant, the three-quarter length Warmup Down Pant. The recently launched collection takes into account every movement an athlete makes or any position an athlete may find themselves in.

“One particular athlete lamented the fact that he doesn’t need to train full-strip all the time, contrary to what his coaches may encourage. In fact, he actually believes he is more efficient during his training sessions when training with unrestrictive technical layers because he is able to focus on skill improvement versus trying to stay warm on a frigid Vermont day in the middle of Winter,” said Geof Ochs, SYNC Performance President, CEO, Chief Innovation Officer, and Lead Product Developer.

Complete with durable fabrics in high-risk areas of extreme abrasion and wear and tear, these pieces are designed to work as a set. Utilizing the same technical fabrics throughout the top and the bottom. First, a weatherproof, 20k/20k, three-layer woven with a membrane and 4-way stretch to protect from gate abrasion and the elements. The second unique fabric is a brand-new down-proof Stretch CORDURA® fabric:

CORDURA® Fabrics are both strong and versatile, great for combating the daily grind to surviving some of the world's toughest environments. We challenge the definition of fabric with advanced solutions that help protect against tears, scuffs, and abrasions. [cordura.com]

“Every athlete needs to be warm and confident every time they kick out the start gate. It was not until the athletes came to us explaining their needs for a more dedicated training kit, a mobile system between their training pant and jacket, which we started looking into an innovative way to provide a better solution,” continued Geof.

Each piece is designed specifically for complete freedom of movement. With stretch fabrics in the places needed most and Primaloft down insulation in areas, such as the core, lower back, thighs, and knees these pieces are designed for full-day use, to breathe when asked, and keep you warm when necessary. The WarmUp Jacket comes with a roll-up hood for emergency use in inclement weather and spontaneous snow-storms.

The Warmup Down Pant is fully equipped with SYNC’s Top-Step Side-Zip construction for easy on-off, just in case the temperature’s rise throughout the training session or the athletes is required to fully-strip for timed training runs after successfully warming-up. The Down pant provides easy access to ski boot buckles with no fuss or roll-up of the ski pant and snow-cuff.

The three-part collection is now available.

Hi Jeff -

Molly from SYNC here. Yes! That is exactly the use-case, in addition to training for GS. These are perfect for negative temperatures or sub ten degree days under your shell snow pants. They will give you tons of warmth, but you will be able to remain flexible due to the stretch construction. Also, if you ever get too hot, they vent very easily with the side zippers.

Best,
Molly

Do you think the warmup down bottom pant would fit under shell pants for super cold weather?
