Nice so far

Just got these on sale for next season and haven't had the chance to put them to the test yet, but here are my initial impressions. I like that the profile is slimmer than the Spyder coaches' bibs I've worn for 20 years or so. I'm 5' 7" 160 lbs and bought them in large. The suspenders and legs are a bit long on my frame, but I'm used to that when I purchase ski pants. I intend to fix that by shortening the suspenders by folding them over and sewing them. If necessary, I can also roll them up a bit at the hem. The full length zipper running from the crotch to the top front of the bib is fantastic, and a big improvement over the tiny zipper on the Spyder coach pants. The material feels like it will be bombproof and is advertised as waterproof. The only downside that I see is that there are not enough well-placed pockets. As a ski race coach, I have always appreciated and made good use of the multiple large pockets on the Spyder coaches' bibs to store and hold screwdrivers, start lists, an extra drill battery, ski straps, a tourniquet, USSS&S Alpine Fundamentals Guide, and other items on race/training days. The Sync bibs have far fewer pockets, and they are smaller, and not as well placed. For example, there are 2 pockets in the back, which is an inconvenient spot to access and not suitable for things that I may end up sitting on. The one-star reduction is for the pocket deficiencies. Not a deal breaker, because otherwise I love the pants, but I'd suggest that future versions have more and larger pockets on the front. Looking forward to getting out on the snow in these cool pants.

Patroller in Midwest Probib

I purchased the large Pro-Bib Pant with canvas outwear. I am 5 ft 11inch and 170 lbs and approximately 70 years old. My normal pant size is 34 waist 34 length. I am well pleased with the fit and comfort of the bib once I got the straps adjusted properly. I believe the thin fit of the large is very good. If I was not buying this for personal use, I would have given it a higher rating but as you are stating it is "Pro" pants I need to lower, it. But the quality so far seems very good, and I would buy this pair of pants again for it fit and the insulation has a good feel on the inside.

But I think this complaint was reported before and I concur that the Sync Performance developers need to pay attention to all the pockets. I am not sure what you think the chest pocket is supposed to be for, but I can barely fit my phone in one of the pockets. The waist hand pockets are also too small to be fully useful. The cargo pocket just begs to have an accordion or deep side panels to be able to fit equipment or a pair of gloves. When dealing with Kids on the hill sometimes we have stashed a hat or supplies and this pocket I dont think you could get a good writing pad in it. The Hand pockets you should add a least and additional inch or two in depth and width. Maybe add a loop to secure keys
o
One last suggestion is you could add about 4 inches in lenght to the knee pads. I like your knee pad design, but my knee is only occupying the last inch of the bottom of the knee pad which kind of works but sometimes it doesn't. And I would like a little bit more insulation but need you to keep this fit. Probably cant do both.

Again I will recommend my associates to check you out so you know i am pleased with my purchase but hoping you might make some improvements.

Great Bibs, exactly what I was looking for. Warm, durable and perfect fit.

Solid Pants

Observations after one week on snow: These are made from nice heavy material, adequately insulated, and overall a good fit. I expect they will break-in rather nicely too. Minor complaint: the cuffs are surprisingly tight on unbuckled boots (these are meant for coaches, right?). Knee pads are awkwardly placed but they are removable and I don't spend much time on my knees, so I took them out. Biggest issue is the suspender straps. As others noted, they are too long and too stretchy, and when I tighten them, the weirdly large buckle ends up just above my collar bone, which makes wearing a backpack uncomfortable. I will need to modify the suspender straps somehow so the silly large buckles stay on my chest and not up on my shoulders. The bi-directional fly zipper is definitely a useful feature. Overall, I would recommend however the suspenders / buckles really are a bummer.

How do they compare to Spyder Coaches bibs?

I've worn Spyder coaches bibs for 20+ years and they finally wore out. I bought another pair, but their canvas version was super bulky, heavy, and I had to wriggle myself into them. The Synch ones are not heavy, bulky, or hard to put on, and they've got pads in the knees and lots of pockets - giant strap adjusters for some reason, but I can get past that. Haven't worn them on the hill yet, but am looking forward to putting them to work.

Hey TC, thanks for your 4 STAR review! Correct, they are not as bulky as the Spyder bibs and I believe you will be satisfied with the performance and durability on the hill!

Pro Bib Pant-Canvas

I have had many coaches bibs (Helly Hanson, Spyder, Descente) over the years and these are by far the best so far. 2 way front zipper, lots of pockets, waterproof and warm but not too warm. The suspenders are super adjustable, 2 way full side zip when you need to cool down and lots of belt loops to keep your drill holder, leatherman and anything else you add to your belt in place. The canvas (heavier) material is super durable and has held up to over 100 days of skiing this season without a mark. 6'1" and 195lbs and I fit in a large size. Thanks for making a great product.

The Pro Bib ski pant

As advertised these pants are a work horse. They are functional, have lots of pockets, comfortable and keep me warm. The only drawback is that they are made for tall people and the knee pads ride a little low for someone of 5'-7" and you have to remember to roll up the cuffs.

Great pants - excellent value. A few Suggestions

I'm 3/4 of the way through a season of coaching and volunteering with the Canvas Pro Bib Pants. I got the canvas version for durability, and I was not disappointed. They are tough, warm, and, as I have found out recently, quite waterproof. I have a couple of suggestions. I find the suspenders too stretchy. Even with a work belt, when you're loaded down with gear, the pants can tend to sag. I had the susupenders trimmed by about 5 inches and I think I need to trim them again to get them to fit correctly. My other suggestion is to add more and larger cargo pockets. The pocket that is over the left knee is only big enough for a couple ski straps without impeding knee function. It's a really good product and with a couple of small adjustments it would be a great one!

Great Coaching Bibs

I ordered these for my husband. The canvas job is rugged and warm. Unfortunately there was only a knee pad on one side. But overall he is happy with their performance, even in the cold temps of the northeast!

Pro Bib pants for Coaches

Great pants for a Coach on the hill. These are my second pair and i went with the Canvas option this time. Highly recommend and will order again when the time comes.

Thanks for the 5 STAR review Brent! SYNC agrees that these are a great pant for coaches and stoked that you agree!

Great Coaches Pants

The new canvas coaching bib is a great product and much improved from the original version. If you are on the Hill coaching day and day out, these are indispensable and well worth whatever you pay for them!

Thanks for the 5 Star review, appreciated! Great you agree that the Pro Bib is the perfect coaching pant for those on the hill all day and the canvas material will hold up!

Worked in them for the first time today. A very solid pant. I would, however, like the largest cargo pockets that the pattern could reasonably accommodate.

Solid ski bibs

I picked these up last month and have enjoyed them. I’ve skied in them six times. They have the right amount of flexibility and strength. They keep me comfortable when skiing in cold Minnesota weather (0F-40F). A little tight in the dad gut but better than many other bibs I’ve tried (6’1”, 240lbs).

Suspenders are too long

I am having to have my suspenders altered, they are way too long and big. The leather sewn piece in the back is at the top of my neck and rides up on my head, so I am having the back straps shortened alot to get these suspenders to fit me. I am 6 feet tall and wear the XXL. These are awesome bibs and I know they are exactly what I was looking for. Just a minor setback while I have a seamstress shorten the suspenders too make them usable for this 6 foot man. Thank you Kim and Sync you are making some awesome products and I love them!

Very well designed bib pant

There is so much thought that has gone into this pant. I line it allot however, sync needs to consider Tall options. I had to order these pants in an xl just to get the length. They are roomier that I would normally like
The same can be said for the jackets. I have 3 different jackets. Most recently, I had to buy a xxl just to guarantee fit. My xl’s are a little too tight.
I’m 6’4” and weigh 215lbs
I’m very happy with design and quality. Tall options would be great.

Awesome Bibs

These Bibs fit well, are warm, and so far the Canvas fabric is super durable.
It rained here the other day and I was totally dry. The knee pads are enough for protection while kneeling but not bulky or stiff. Working as a full time coach my gear is put to the test on a daily basis and these are the bomb!.

Kim Salani is the GOAT!

Kim Salani is a fabulous customer service representative! I bought pants on sale for my ski patrol job. They were way too big on me and, despite the “all sales are final” disclaimer, Kim appreciated that I was mislead by the sizing chart, and she allowed me to return my pants for a smaller size. Rather than giving me a knee-jerk response like “all sales are final,” Kim stepped up, stepped in, and did the right thing. I love SYNC products and this customer service interaction with Kim made me love SYNC even more — wish I could give Kim 6 stars!

Ripped

Disappointed, my pants ripped in the back 2 weeks after my purchase.

Nick,

We are sorry to hear your pants ripped! If you would like to send an email with photos to info@syncperformance.com we would be happy to take a look and get them repaired for you!

Pro Bib

I have been coaching in the Pro Bib 5 to 6 days a week since they showed up at my door. I have been very happy with the product so far. At 5'11" and 215 lbs. I bought the XL but would like to have a shorter inseam and less stretch in the suspenders. I would choose Sync over Helly Hanson or Spyder bibs all day long. Thank you Sync!

Comfortable and functional pant.

This bib pant has a comfortable and athletic fit that runs true to size. The performance fabric is windproof and has good water resistance. The two way fly zipper is a welcome feature, as are the belt loops and the size-adjusting tabs at the waist. To make this a more suitable bib for coaches, I would prefer more functional cargo pockets on the legs, heavier insulation for more warmth on the coldest days, and more padding on the knees. Unlike some coach bibs, this pant is more than comfortable enough for all day athletic skiing.

Stitching blew out at seam!

After only skiing and coaching in the pant twice the stitching blew out in seam and has caused the seam to split and come apart! I will say I am very surprised as my other Sync gear has been fantastic but the pro bib has been a bit of a let down!

Misses the mark

I actually returned my new bibs, which is a real bummer because I wanted to like them. The number one reason why I chose to return these bibs is due to the woefully insufficient padding in the knee. It’s not so much the padding thickness as it is the size/coverage area of the knee. The pad itself barely spanned half of the inner portion of my knee and left the outer area completely unprotected. The bibs are otherwise decent.
That said, it would be nice if they had at least two different inseam lengths for those of us that are somewhat vertically challenged so we don’t have to roll the leg cuffs. Three would be ideal (short, regular, tall), but that’s probably asking too much. When you have to roll the cuff because the inseam is too long, it completely eliminates the protective surface that stops edge cutting.
Anyway, that’s my review. Decent pair of bibs that need quite a bit more attention to detail.
